Profile:
Mr.
Halpern is the
founder and principal architect of Halpern Architects. His 30-plus
years of
practice, combined with his involvement in a wide variety of project
types,
enable him to bring diverse experience to the firm. Mr. Halpern has
particular
expertise in the design of waterfront houses, structural theory, and
historic
preservation. He has been active in the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the
American
Institute of Architects, and has recently served as the Architectural
Consultant to the Historic Preservation Commission for the City of Annapolis. His
work as
Chair of the CBC/AIA Historic Preservation Committee was recognized in
2002 by
the Annapolis Historic Preservation Commission and the Historic
Annapolis
Foundation, which awarded him their Community Preservation Award. He
has also
served on the board of directors of the Maryland Hall for the
Performing Arts.
