Sometimes a relatively small project can have a big effect on how well a house works for its owners. Halpern Architects added a small sunroom and deck to an existing house whose owners were generally happy, but who needed just a bit more space.

The new sunroom provides additional seating area, views into the wooded back yard and children's play area, and access to a small deck housing a grill.

A separate HVAC unit serves the new room, eliminating the need for modifying the existing system serving the rest of the house, and allowing the sunroom to be closed off when not in use without affecting other spaces.
